Team said Edelman suffered knee injury
DETROIT — The New England Patriots suspect wide receiver Julian Edelman tore his ACL during a preseason game Friday night against the Detroit Lions, ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Edelman was carted into the locker room after coming up limping after a catch during the first drive of the game against the Detroit Lions.

Edelman made a nice catch, but appeared to hurt his right knee while planting his right knee on the field turf of Ford Field.
He was seen reaching to the back of his right knee while on the ground. He limped to the sideline and went into the medical tent before a cart took him back to the locker room for further evaluation.

The 31-year-old star wide receiver was set to undergo an MRI on Saturday, the reports said.
The Patriots would only confirm Edelman suffered a knee injury. When questioned about Edelman’s condition at the end of the half, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said “I don’t know.”
Edelman is one of the most valuable receivers in the National Football League. Last season, his average of 9.8 targets per game ranked fourth in the NFL.
