National Hurricane Center forecast for tropical storm Arlene. The storm is expected to dissipate on Friday.
Tropical storms are rare in the month of April. The only other April tropical cyclone was Ana, back in 2003.

Just last year, a tropical cyclone formed on January 13 and was named Alex. That storm eventually became a hurricane.

The official start of the Atlantic hurricane season is June 1.
