LAWRENCE, Mass. — One man died and three other men were injured in a shooting in Lawrence late Monday night.
The shooting happened at the Howard Playstead Park, near Arlington and Lawrence streets on the Methuen Line.
One of the victims fled in a car that then crashed into a utility pole a short time later on South Union Street. The person was later pronounced dead.
The three other victims were taken to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Two of the men were then taken to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.
State and local police are investigating the shooting.
No names have been released.
